Wedding Videography FAQ.

Below are some of our frequently asked questions.  If there's anything we've missed - please don't hesitate to contact us here.

Will there be bulky equipment?

No. The HD cameras we use are very compact and designed to film action 'on the go'.  This is important for a wedding day, as the schedule can often be quire demanding. Rather than waiting for the 'videographer' to set up and pack up... our equipment is compact and quick to relocate without lowering video quality. During the ceremony the groom will wear a small black lapel microphone which often cannot be seen at all. As soon as the ceremony is over, we will immediately remove this microphone so its not in any of your official family photos.

What video equipment do you use?

All our cameras are Full 1080p High Definition. Depending on the environment, length of ceremony and other lighting factors - we will either use the Canon XF305, Canon EOS 5D MK2 or Sony HD Video cameras.

What is the sound quality like?

Very often videographers neglect sound quality, especially for things like ceremonies and speeches. At Turbo Productions - we avoid this problem by using tie-clip microphones and have the ability to patch into the existing sound system if available - to capture the cleanest sound possible. Before the wedding day, we may also liaise with your venue concerning audio matters.

Do you set up lighting for the video?

Lighting is as important to the quality of video as a flash is to photography. However, we understand that strong lighting may not be appropriate to the atmosphere of your particular event. Therefore wherever possible we set our cameras to use available light and only use dimmable camera lights where absolutely necessary. During a wedding, we would only use on-camera dimmable lights at the end of the day during the partying when the venue turn the lights down low.

Are you and your team available for travel?

The Turbo Productions team love to travel.  We have filmed many weddings in New Zealand, Fiji, Bali, France, Italy and the United States.  Often, our prices are still cheaper than using a local provider in those countries!  Package prices can vary, depending on price of airfares and accommodation during certain times of the year.  Simply contact us for a detailed no-obligation quote.

Who will be filming our wedding?

We currently employ 5 professional videographers. Each has worked in the industry for many years and has been hand-picked by our managing director for their creative and technical abilities. Our team includes men and women from a variety of cultural backgrounds, all of whom are able to think on their feet and deliver excellent material every time. When working, our videographers are very non-obtrusive and aim to capture a true representation of your wedding day.

What are your payment terms?

We ask for a deposit of approximately between $800 - $1000 (depending on package chosen) to secure the wedding date.  Final payment is then due PRIOR to the wedding day. Our accounting system will issue a reminder notice for the final amount due approximately one week before your wedding date.

Can we pay our account with multiple instalments leading up to the wedding?

Yes.  We went to make it as stress-free for you as possible.  Every time you make a payment, we'll simply issue an official invoice / tax receipt for your running records of payments. Once the account balance is at $0, we will release shipment of your wedding DVD products.

How long is the finished DVD?

On average, a completed edited wedding DVD is 1.5 hours.  The timing can vary, depending on the length of your Ceremony and Speeches.  We do not like to put more than 2 hours onto a disk, as it can result in a lower quality product. If its looking like your DVD is going to be longer than 2 hours, we can discuss the options of using different disk-types to be able to fit everything onto the disk.

Can we get a copy of the RAW Footage?

Yes!  All our packages come with the ability for you to obtain the RAW footage as shot on the wedding day.  You simply need to ship in an external hard drive to our address at PO BOX 23180, Docklands VIC 3008.  Once received, we'll transfer everything over and ship it back to you.  It is VERY IMPORTANT that you send us this hard drive within 6 weeks following your wedding. Due to the amount of space HD video takes up on our systems, WE DO DELETE ALL RAW FILES approximately 6 weeks following the wedding.

Can i choose the music used in the DVD?

Of course!  Music is quite a big part of a wedding DVD.  We want it to be an enjoyable and personal experience for you - so choosing your own music helps create that memory which you can re-live for the rest of your life.  If you are using this DVD for personal use - there are no copyright requirements, however - if you wish to broadcast this video anywhere outside of a private settings, please check with your countries Performing Rights Association for fees.

When will I get my DVDs?

Turbo Productions pride ourselves in producing a quality wedding video memory, while not waiting many months to receive it!  If you ensure your song selections are submitted prior to the wedding date, we aim to have your final DVD's ready within 4-6 weeks following the wedding date (this may extend to 10 weeks during the summer peak period).
